Data & AI Engineer. Production AI systems on Snowflake for regulated financial services. Applied research on hybrid LLM forecasting.

Daniel Comerford
Data & AI Engineer | MSc Computing (AI), DCU
Kilkenny / Dublin, Ireland
I am a Data & AI Engineer working at the intersection of applied machine learning and enterprise data platforms. I build production AI systems on Snowflake — conversational analytics, NL-to-SQL agents, and NLP pipelines — for clients in regulated financial services. My academic background combines AI and data analytics with applied research into hybrid forecasting models that integrate deep learning with large language model reasoning.
Daniel holds an MSc in Computing with a major in Artificial Intelligence and a minor in Data Analytics from Dublin City University, graduating with First Class Honours. His current consulting work focuses on Snowflake-native AI — Cortex Analyst and Cortex Agents implementations, Snowflake Arctic applied to natural-language-to-SQL workflows, and live demos for CEO, CIO, and other C-suite stakeholders across global teams.
His applied research explores hybrid architectures that combine classical time-series methods with LLM reasoning. The co-authored paper at AICS 2025 demonstrates how language models can augment numerical forecasters with structured sentiment signals to improve directional accuracy. Earlier projects include a book cover search engine combining BM25, Vector Space Models, and LLM reasoning, and a supervised learning pipeline for Premier League match prediction.
Alongside his consulting work, Daniel co-runs his family's construction and property maintenance business in Kilkenny, with direct responsibility for client delivery, scheduling, and compliance. He played senior club Gaelic football and hurling for St. Martin's GAA Club and served as a player representative on the club committee.
